SUNY OLD WESTBURY CHILD CARE RATES

In alignment with New York State Governor Kathy Hochul's initiative to expand high-quality child care, Academic Explorers has been selected by SUNY Old Westbury to bring flexible, affordable early childhood education to Long Island. Our regular community tuition rates fall below average locally and campus faculty, staff, and students may qualify for discounted and subsidized child care.

There is a child care block grant assistance program available for SUNY student parents enrolled in a two or four year degree program who are New York State residents and are both programmatically and financially eligible. The goal of the program is to provide support to low-income student parents so that they can obtain a college degree and secure employment that will enable them to support themselves and their child(ren). The program provides child care assistance for income-eligible student parents who are attending SUNY Old Westbury. Interested parents must submit an application, along with class schedule and documentation of income to Academic Explorers.

If you are a SUNY Old Westbury student and your family income exceeds 85% of the State Median Income (SMI) reflected in the table above, you may not qualify for the SUNY subsidy. However, you may still register for child care at a discounted rate.
