Academic Explorers successfully expanded its programs with the opening of our Uniondale child care center in 2021. Our day care near Uniondale features spacious classrooms, brand-new equipment, and high-quality curriculum materials that create an engaging learning environment for every child. We provide early learning programs in Nassau County for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and pre-K students, each guided by a research-based curriculum that supports growth, curiosity, and confidence. In addition, our Uniondale day care offers state-of-the-art classrooms for children in grades K–6, providing a safe and enriching before- and after-school program that helps families balance their busy schedules while children learn and thrive.

Enclosed Playground
Our outdoor playground gives children a safe and inviting space to move, explore, and play every day. Our backyard is fully enclosed, regularly inspected, and equipped with age-appropriate play structures that encourage physical development and social interaction.
UNIONDALE CHILD CARE PROGRAMS
Teachers support our babies learning how to crawl, walk, and play with developmentally appropriate activities.

For families that occasionally need child care when their regular child care provider is unavailable.

Through dramatic play and interactive learning, social-emotional skills are developed in our preschool classrooms.

Full time child care and fun-filled activities and field trips to give children a summer camp experience.

Free meals and snacks, outdoor play, homework help, fun activities are included in our before & after school.

Kindergarten - 6th
We provide pick up and drop off service to and from elementary schools for kids in our before & after school program.

About the director
While pursuing her Bachelor’s degree, Ms. Destiny brings a wealth of experience to her role, holding a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential and having served in early childhood education for many years. She has grown within our organization, beginning as an Assistant Teacher, advancing to Lead Teacher, then Administrative Assistant, and now proudly serving as Center Director. Ms. Destiny’s deep commitment to children, families, and her team make her an outstanding and inspiring part of Academic Explorers.

Is Academic Explorers of Uniondale a licensed child care provider?
Yes, our Uniondale day care center is fully licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS). We strictly adhere to all state regulations regarding safety, staffing ratios, and facility cleanliness.
What are the hours of operation?
To support working families with young children in Uniondale, our child care center is open for extended hours during the school year and full days in the summer. September - June: 6:30am - 6:30pm July & August: 7:30am - 5:30pm
What curriculum do you use at Academic Explorers?
We use The Creative Curriculum®, a research-based approach that focuses on project-based learning and discovery. At Academic Explorers, our teachers tailor this curriculum to meet the developmental milestones of infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and pre-k students.
Do you accept DSS or any other child care assistance subsidy programs?
