Substitute Teacher

 

Position Summary
The Substitute Teacher role requires working Monday through Friday and being available to report to any of our child care center locations as assigned. The substitute will support classrooms of varying age groups, assisting teachers in maintaining a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children.

 

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and engage children to ensure health, safety, and well-being.
     

  • Assist classroom teachers in daily routines, activities, and instruction.
     

  • Support children with meals, diapering, toileting, and hygiene needs.
     

  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
     

  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
     

  • Follow lesson plans and routines as directed by the Lead Teacher or Center Director.
     

  • Complete daily reports and incident documentation when needed.
     

  • Complete training as assigned.
     

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED required; early childhood coursework preferred.
     

  • At least 1 year of child care or teaching experience is preferred.
     

  • Flexibility to work with multiple age groups and in different center locations.
     

  • Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in working with young children.
     

  • Must be able to lift 25–30 lbs and meet physical demands of classroom care.

 

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to speak and understand basic English. This position is very active and requires sitting, standing, walking, running, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. The employee must be able to see and hear children at all times for the safety of children and co-workers.

Pay rate: $140 per day (8 hours)
